DSLR & Mirror-less Camera Boot Camp

Start Date: February 1, 2022 – End Date: February 8, 2022

Understand your camera Dials, Buttons and Menus, 2 Days
This class will help you understand your camera settings and menus. Learn which menu settings are important and which settings you should leave alone for now. The instructor will discuss everything from how to properly hold your camera, which buttons and dials do what, the different types of lenses and how to use them, and other basic information. This class is intended as the first step for students wishing to take the Beginning & Intermediate Photography classes. You must bring DSLR camera with accessories and owner’s manual to class.

Beginning Digital Photography

Start Date: February 15, 2022 – End Date: March 22, 2022

Learn basic concepts of how to control exposure and the rules of composition, 6 Days
This photography class will cover the basics of manual exposure and how ISO settings, aperture/f-stops, and shutter speed work together to affect your final image. We will also cover the difference between metering modes, auto focus modes, focus points, and lens focal length. You will also receive an introduction to depth of field and basic compositional rules to help you create more interesting photos. Many tips and tricks will be shared. Class outing will be held on Week 5. You will need a flash drive for photo class assignments. DSLR or Mirrorless camera required.

Intermediate Photography

Start Date: April 5, 2022 – End Date: May 10, 2022

Learn to apply creative technics to every day photography, 6 Days
Take the next step in gaining the foundational skills to become a great photographer. This class will cover the principles of light and exposure including histograms and more. We will also discuss tips and tricks on how to handle common subjects such as portrait, nature, and sports photography. Weekly photographic assignments will include panning, silhouette, creative use of wide-angle lenses, and others. This class is designed for those wanting to gain a better understanding of their equipment and to improve their photographic skills. You will need a flash drive for photo class assignments. DSLR or Mirrorless camera required. There will be a class outing on weeks 5 and week 6 will cover some photo editing.
